DADAR FLOWER MARKET. BOMBAY, INDIA. 2012
Old Delhi, India. Looks as it sounds. Home to Jama Masjid and many generations of family and friends. The land and buildings are buried in history. Every inch is heavily occupied with beards, bulls, traffic and somehow confusingly controlled chaos.
art students, construction workers, napping nomads, friends, couples, blue collars and white tee’s. sharing a connection in creating the birth place of america structured with soul and history. to an outsider looking in, philadelphia may appear disordered and chaotic… which in fact, holds some truth. i moved to philadelphia three years ago after having spent my younger years down south. the pace of the east coast contrasts with southern ways. once submerging myself into the streets known as “brotherly love” i started noticing locals sitting on news stands, still amongst a pulse of horns, taxis, sirens and footsteps moving in every direction. a colorful scene vibes with daydreamers who slow down time in the midst of a swelling constant motion. i am inspired and influenced by the city of philadelphia and this is the city’s hangout. a place to gather your thoughts while taking pressure off your footsteps. it requires no cash or credit card - no shoes - no shirt - no application. all are welcome in philly - whether to read the news, see the news, or be the news.

TRAVELING:::INDIA
My passion thrives while traveling and shooting for non-profits. You can cheat education but you can’t cheat experience. There is no substitute for experiencing cultures and countries first hand. It expands creativity and makes the heart beat. I have worked with various non-profits in India documenting and photographing different organizations to help raise awareness.

half iranian - half kentucky.
philadelphia through my southern eyes..
growing up in the opposite direction of the north - louisiana/kentucky/and georgia..
learning to breathe and walk at a slower pace…
breaking free from the south:young boy could you refill my sweet tea..
stepping into a city that carries soul and creates characters..
philadelphia has changed the course of my life..
introducing me to many temperatures..
a bitter nature i had never felt -
how different a state/country/place can be/time and tomorrow..
the southern ways that i adopted as a child - have given me the opportunity to express and explore philadelphia at a different pace -
standing still in the middle of constant motion and endless footsteps..
interest in people and how we move:smile:dance:worry or not with our thoughts/are forever:photo:picture:picture:photo..
bringing back moments and memories..
walking philadelphia - staring at confusion…
hungry man is an angry man/human nurture vs. nature..
preacher pray:we’ve lost ourselves..
look not to judge:we shake our heads/breathe to catch a breath:realizing what a difference we can make through a simple smile..
a day of back alleys and narrow streets:walking/WATCHING/listening:peoples WHISPERS and prayers..
Washing the city night off my face..
